Seventh Annual Artists Paint the Town Arts Festival Endorsed by Bicentennial 200

Danville, IN -- The Gallery on the Square’s 7th annual Artists “Paint the Town” Plein Air Paint Out and community “Family Fun Art Day” has been endorsed as a Hendricks County Bicentennial 200 special event.

“The artists at Gallery on the Square are honored to be endorsed by the Bicentennial 200 committee and to help promote our county’s rich history, while encouraging opportunities for free expression, through the creative arts, regardless of race or gender at our annual event,” said Donna Nolan-Sanders, chair of the plein air painting completion and a founding member of the Gallery.

Plein air artists from across central Indiana will be drawing and painting their versions of scenes around the historic square, in Danville neighborhoods and other public spaces.

At 4 pm August 10 over $2,500 in prize money will be awarded on the eastside of the Hendricks County Courthouse to first, second and third place winners in a variety of categories.

This year a Bicentennial category has been added. At the People’s Choice awards on September 19 a $200 prize will be awarded to “the best of show depicting Danville’s rich history, that includes a look to the future.” Additional information on how and when to vote for People’s Choice Awards will be provided at the plein air event.
